[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish داخلیه (dahiliyye, “interior”),[1][2] from Arabic دَاخِلِيَّة (dāḵiliyya), from دَاخِل (dāḵil) + ـِيَّة (-iyya), active participle of دَخَلَ (daḵala, “to enter, to go in”).[3]
