From *bunj, from Proto-Albanian *budnja, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰudʰ-ne/o, from *bʰewdʰ- (to be wake, keep watch) (compare Proto-Slavic *buditi (to wake, to rouse), Lithuanian budė́ti). According to Georgiev, from Thracian βουνον (bounon)[1]
