big pocket (plural big pockets)

  1. Used other than figuratively or idiomatically: see big,‎ pocket.
  2. (snooker) A situation where a ball is lying close to a pocket, such that another ball being potted into that pocket may go in either directly or off the first ball, creating a wider margin of error than normal, and hence the illusion that the pocket is bigger than normal.
