bůst
Appearance
Czech
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Old Czech bósti, from Proto-Slavic *bosti, Proto-Balto-Slavic *bestei, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *bʰedʰh₂-é-ti.
Pronunciation
[edit]Verb
[edit]bůst impf
- (archaic) Alternative form of bodat
- 1853, Karel Jaromír Erben, “Věštkyně”, in Kytice:
- Nalezli Přemysla na poli, an voly bode ostnem, pospíchaje, aby dílo své vykonal.
- (please add an English translation of this quotation)
Usage notes
[edit]This verb is archaic. Additionally, the past participle bodl wouldn't be understood in imperfective meaning but rather as the past participle of imperfective bodnout.
Conjugation
[edit]
The future tense: a combination of a future form of být + infinitive bůst. |
