[edit]Borrowed from Arabic الرَطْل (ar-raṭl) via Andalusian Arabic, from Aramaic רִיטְלָא / ܪܺܝܛܠܳܐ (rīṭlā), variant of לִיטְרָא / ܠܺܝܛܪܳܐ (līṭrā), from Ancient Greek λίτρα (lítra, “libra, Roman pound”). Doublet of libra.
