Borrowed from Arabic الرَطْل (ar-raṭl) via Andalusian Arabic, from Aramaic רִיטְלָא / ܪܺܝܛܠܳܐ (rīṭlā), variant of לִיטְרָא / ܠܺܝܛܪܳܐ (līṭrā), from Ancient Greek λίτρα (lítra, libra, Roman pound). Doublet of libra.
