Borrowed from Hungarian árpakása, from Hungarian árpa, borrowed from a Turkic language before the 9th century, from Proto-Turkic *arpa, itself borrowed from an Iranian language, ultimately from Proto-Iranian *Hr̥pā́š (barley).
