Etymology

[edit]

a- +‎ adhi- +‎ vara. Note that a- (not) has the effect of making a superlative for adhivara (excellent).

Usage notes

[edit]

The misreading andhivara is frequent. Indeed, in 2019, in the Thai script without implicit vowels, it is commoner on-line than anadhivara itself, though on-line anadhivara is commoner in both the Roman script and the Thai script with implicit vowels.
