[edit]Etymology
[edit]Root word of alaskador (“one who loves to tease people”), with the etymology uncertain. The old meaning may have referred to “someone who always wants to be above others”, coined from the catchphrase of the milk-producing company Alaska, with tagline “Wala pa ring tatalo sa Alaska”, literally, “Still, no one can beat Alaska”. This meaning being associated with boastfulness and condescension made its sense shift to the current meaning.
