[edit]From Proto-Finnic *ahtëra, possibly from Proto-Finno-Permic *akšte, but in any case potentially borrowed from Proto-Indo-Iranian [Term?] (compare Sanskrit अक्षेत्र (ákṣetra, “destitute of fields, uncultivated”))[1] Akin to Erzya якстерь (jakśťeŕ).
