[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish آج آجنه (ac acına),[1] from آج (ac, aç),[2] equivalent to aç (“hungry”) + aç + -ı (possessive suffix) + -(n)a (dative suffix with "n" as buffer consonant).
