Zuschlag m (strong, genitive Zuschlages, plural Zuschläge)

  1. surcharge, additional charge, extra fee
  2. extra pay, bonus, premium, compensation, supplement (for example for weekend or holiday work)
  3. ("den Zuschlag erhalten") to be knocked down, to go to someone, to declare (something) sold with a blow from the gavel (at an auction)
  4. ("den Zuschlag erhalten") to be awarded the contract (in contract bidding, tendering)
