[edit]New Latin xeno- + -pus, from Ancient Greek ξένος (xénos, “foreign, strange”) + πούς (poús, “foot”).

- A taxonomic genus within the family Pipidae – the clawed frogs. The best known species is Xenopus laevis, which is used as a model organism in scientific research.
