Wiktionary talk:Requested entries (Vietnamese)

I have seen the text at the top of the page is a template, which is not such a good idea. It says:

• Add genders.
• If you see inflected forms such as plurals or past tenses, change them to their dictionary form (unless they are irregular).

There are no genders in Vietnamese and there are no "inflected forms such as plurals or past tenses". Such things are done by adding other words, not by inflection... David 14:21, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Han character pronunciations/readings

It seems that vi:Wiktionary, the Nom Foundation, and http://www.petrus-tvk.com/ChuThich.html often have three different sets of Vietnamese readings/pronunciations for a given Han character (I'm talking Han-Viet/Han tu, not Chu nom here). I think all three rely on print sources, which are listed on some of the sites. However, if they're all relying on the same sources, why do they have different readings (and the Nom Foundation sometimes not having a reading at all for a common character)? It seems that all three projects are something like "works in progress," which isn't good for us to rely on if they're not entirely trustworthy. So, should we simply amalgamate all the pronunciations from all three databases and put them in our entries? 24.29.238.60 18:41, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
