How would you transliterate an accented “ъ”?

You mean in words like ъгъл? I guess you would put an accent on the ǎ, thus ǎ́. It looks a bit awkward, but it works fine. -- Prince Kassad 14:36, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Inconsistent stress mark

Per Wikipedia, either a grave or an acute is used to mark stress in Bulgarian. Why would be use both, on different letters? —Michael Z. 2013-06-01 14:42 z

From personal experience I have only ever encountered the grave accent within Bulgarian literature to indicate the stress. In particular for the pronoun ѝ the only correct spelling is with a grave accent. This makes the Wiktionary standard quite atypical. I would suggest it be changed. @Terinuva: There are a few technical, historical and consistency reasons. In any case, it has been a policy for years, the module has worked using the acute accents, now not easy to change at all. The grave accent is used a secondary accent in the pronunciation sections. Sorry, you can't casually come and demand it. Sorry, but you're absolutely wrong! Bulgarian uses the grave accent. Just because it has been a policy for years, doesn't mean it's correct. This applies to all aspects of life. Your points based on technical (= too lazy to change) and consistency reasons are not valid. It was wrong to implement the acute accent in the first place. Wiktionary shouldn't have created this pile of wrong data and invented their own conventions. About the historical part, please provide any sources not copied from Wiktionary that use the acute accent. As a native Russian speaker, you're biased because Russian uses the accute accent. Secondary stress doesn't really work that way in Bulgarian. In a compound word, you would only indicate the primary stress (тъмносѝн) or use the grave accent twice. The two biggest online dictionaries https://rechnik.chitanka.info/ and https://ibl.bas.bg/rbe/ use the grave accent. I have also found the latter in its printed version of 15 tomes in my library of Slavonic Studies. It is not just some random dictionary. Terinuva just pointed out the facts and wasn't demanding anything. Don't be so aggressive, that makes other people give you aggressive answers as well.
