English/Khmer Translation. I would greatly appreciate your help.

After weeks of trying to translate sentences that my girlfriend has said I finally found this website. I have had absolutely no luck finding any meanings of the following phrases. Could one of you kind people please translate the following sentences into English? I would very much appreciate your help, you are my last resort. I think this is Khmenglish/Khmer-Romanji.

      • 1) jer nak heuy

2) yab ey coz u that ort jo nus ey.

3) hey bros a krok

4) yab nas

5) yab ey ke.jo man.

Thank you very much for any help.

It is too hard to figure out the Roman spellings. Need to write it in Khmer, such as ក្រុកៗ (krokkrok) (krok-krok, hen clucking). —Stephen (Talk) 08:44, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

kyopta

Is "kyopta" the romanization of a Korean word? --Daniel 03:26, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not a very good romanization. Probably 귀엽다 (gwiyeopda, "it is cute"). —Stephen (Talk) 05:58, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. --Daniel 05:51, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"I'll be right back." Lo más correcto en castellano es "ahora mismo vuelvo" o "vuelvo enseguida". user: Patito 10 de octubre 2011

(Maybe something along the lines of BRB, to be said in an online conversation.) --Daniel 03:06, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
People usually say, volveré enseguida, regreso enseguida, volveré, ya vuelvo, ya regreso, ahora vengo. Mexicans say ahorita regreso or ahorita vengo. There are some other possibilities. Perhaps ya vuelvo is the most standard. —Stephen (Talk) 09:50, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've heard at least one person say "voy y vengo pronto" (vvp) but I dunno, he was weird. — [Ric Laurent]16:27, 6 August 2011 (UTC).[reply]
In Chile at least, we usually use the phrase "voy y vuelvo", but that phrase is used only when you are actually going somewhere and you say "I'll be right back".

Nice collection of translations. vvp sounds weird indeed, even if voy y vengo has an old entry. Well, thanks for everyone. --Daniel 05:55, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

English to IPA

Please write this sentence in IPA:

"It means she's in a gang."

/ɪt.min.ʃiz.ɪn.əˈgæŋ/ —Stephen (Talk) 12:58, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'd say /ɪt.mi:nz/, and I pronounce gang more like /gei̯ŋ/, but that's all I'd change. — [Ric Laurent]19:30, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think the following /ʃ/ swallows up the z of /minz/. It is possible to say /minz.ʃiz/ by emphasizing the z.ʃ with a hiatus between. I don’t think it is normal to do that. Of course, certain of the vowels can be lengthened at will, like /mi:n/, but it is not necessary and I think it is most commonly pronounced without the lengthening in /minz/. It is also possible to stress other words instead of gang, or in addition to gang, for different effects. —Stephen (Talk) 20:10, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think I just talk funny lol. Slowing myself down, though, I think I do say it more like /minʃiz/ or /minsʃiz/ more than what I originally said. — [Ric Laurent]14:44, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Need scottish gaelic translation for "Always beside you"

Hi all,

I need the translation for "Always beside you" into Scottish Gaelic. So far I got "Daonnan by sibh", "Daonnan ri taobh sibh" and "Daonnan dluth dhuibh" Which one is correct now??

Please help, Thx, Jay

From the viewpoint of Irish Gaelic, the first one is definitely wrong. I think they should be "Daonnan dlùth dhut" or "Daonnan ri taobh thu". Sibh is the formal word for you, not good for a close relationship. Leat/dhut/thu is the intimate word for you. But, like I said, my experience is with Irish Gaelic, not Scottish. —Stephen (Talk) 10:43, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

English to Latin translation, please, anyone?

Is writes, proinde nos es,

obviously seems wrong, and,

Scribit ergo sumus,

not quite right.

So, - in the succinct sense of cogito ergo sum, - what is the truer translation of:

He writes, therefore we are.

Thankyou.

Love the beautiful life in hawaiian

I wanna get this tattooed on me please help. I was told its nani aloha kahanida can you tell me if this is rigjt? Thank you

nani means beauty. aloha means love. There is no such word as "kahanida". Hawaiian does not even have the letter d. Your phrase does not contain much meaning as far as I can tell. You have to translate meaning, and there is no meaning that I can make out of it.
"Long life" is ola loa or ola lōʻihi. "Happy life" is nohona hauʻoli. Breath of life is mauli ola. Source of life is kumulipo. Full of life can be any of ʻeuʻeu, hōʻeuʻeu, ʻeleʻeleu, ʻeu, hōʻeu, or hōʻeleʻeleu. May God grant me life is "e ola au i ke Akua". Life-bringing sun is ka lā hiki ola. Life is in Hawaii is aia ke ola i Hawaiʻi. —Stephen (Talk) 21:24, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
