Changes to Module:or-IPA

They are causing some errors. See CAT:E; for example, ଖ଼ and ଫ଼. I don't know enough about Odia to know what's going wrong. Benwing2 (talk) 21:02, 25 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, those are synthetic combinations that are never used naturally. I'm a native speaker and I'm surprised to see these weird combinations. Psubhashish (talk) 21:31, 25 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2 I've tried to fix both IPA and transliteration schemes considering these pages already exist. The pages are all IP edits and don't cite any loanwords that use them in the first place. As a native speaker with ample linguistic knowledge I can guarantee that newspapers, books and journals do not use "କ଼", "ଖ଼", "ଗ଼", "ଜ଼" and "ଝ଼". Historically, there is no precedence of these characters with nukta. Psubhashish (talk) 23:09, 25 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Can you make a post to WT:RFVN (which is for challenging the existence of non-English terms) about these particular characters and how they don't really exist in Odia? I personally don't have the requisite knowledge of the Odia writing system but if you make this post, people who know Odia will either agree with you that the terms should be deleted or (conceivably) come up with citations showing their usage. BTW that page may take awhile to edit and save; it's pretty big. Benwing2 (talk) 23:46, 25 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2, thanks for the suggestion. Done. Psubhashish (talk) 11:42, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
