Saint Helena

[edit]

Would you please re-record this when you can?, in this word Helena is supposed to be pronounced with stress in the second e (as He-LEE-na) and Saint in this word is read as Sint or Sənt. Rodrigo5260 (talk) 00:25, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

The saint pronunciation with a reduced vowel probably holds true in Britain, but I think it would cause confusion in the United States. Most people here probably only know the strong pronunciation of saint. — Eru·tuon 15:20, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I was mentioning that because he is British, but yes, there must be separate transcriptions for American and British English in that lemma. Rodrigo5260 (talk) 14:54, 31 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
