New L-2's and Polish Pronunciation

[edit]

Hey, you should be using {{pl-p}} in pronunciation sections and also be adding four -'s between new L2's. Vininn126 (talk) 19:07, 9 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

OK, thanks for information. I will do this in future. Jnovikov (talk) 19:08, 9 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Great, thanks. Also check out Shumkich's change on okupant for things you should do in the future. If you wanna add more Polish words, check out our About Polish page. Vininn126 (talk) 19:14, 9 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, dummy me. From now on I will revise my additions of Polish L2s at least couple of days before adding them here. Hurrying never results in good articles. Jnovikov (talk) 19:21, 9 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
You're new, everyone needs time to learn. Just go slow at first so we can correct and you can learn. Vininn126 (talk) 19:22, 9 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, another thought - verb forms are accelerated. So you can turn on the acceleration gadget under preferences. But be careful - the pl-p template doesn't always handle syllabification well (for example przytrzymać should be przy'trzy.mać, but it will naturally do przyt'rzy.mać), and you have to respell it in the template for non-lemmas, too (read the documentation for pl-p for more). Also just be wary of verbs that are both perfective and imperfective. Vininn126 (talk) 20:20, 9 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, this acceleration thing is quite useful. And I really felt myself dummy yesterday, as I have been active Finnish Wikipedia user since 2018 and active Finnish Wiktionary user since 2019, and still I thought the declension template was wrong although in fact I had put the gender wrong. And, as Finnish Wiktionary is a smaller project and there entries are usually half as long as entries here, I somehow thought it's OK also here to add stub entries. Always a good idea to read template/module documentation and to check out RECENTLY made entries by, for example, me, BigDom, Hythonia, Shumkichi, etc, if you need an example. Vininn126 (talk) 09:04, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Vininn126: because you may wonder why I omitted pl-p in my newest creation. I thought that "dzien‧ni‧ka‧rzem" is probably wrong and thought it might be "dzien‧ni‧kar‧zem" but wasn't sure of anything. But now when I looked the pronuncation, which is more like "dzennikazem", I realized "rzem" should be the last syllable as its own. So I think this won't happen again. No worries. In short, yeah, rz is a digraph in Polish, and 99% of the time is in the same syllable. In only a few words it's not. Vininn126 (talk) 11:24, 23 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
