If I may be permitted a moment’s inarticulate fanboyism…

[edit]

This entry cites frikkin’ runic inscriptions! That’s soooooo damn cooooool!!!!1!!11!!!ONE!!!1!!ELEVEN!!!1!!! XD  — Raifʻhār Doremítzwr ~ (U · T · C) ~ 09:36, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Glad you think so! :) I've moved them into ek#Old_Norse (and the non-runic bits into ég), and worked the Vimose comb into Heri. I know we generally don't include proto-languages in the main namespace, but that's because proto-languages aren't generally attested, whereas some of these words — heck, ek and erilaz meet the three-use criterion living languages have. - -sche (discuss) 23:31, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
We already have some Proto-Norse entries, and even a category: Category:Proto-Norse language. —CodeCat 23:34, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Also I'm not so sure Heri goes back to harja. If it is at all related to Icelandic héri, then the Proto-Norse form would have been *hazo or *haza. The comb inscription is more likely the word Template:termx in accusative or vocative, which became herur in Faroese. —CodeCat 23:42, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
I did not know we had proto-Norse entries! That's great! I have moved the ᛖᚲ-quotations to [[ᛖᚲ]] (but left the ᛖᚳ quotations at [[ek]]). As for Harja: I'll change "considered" to "considered by ... although this is disputed" and specify a few references. - -sche (discuss) 00:08, 26 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
