Suggestions

I wanted to use this template, but there's still some annoying stuff. First, the parameters etyl lang and etyl term are horribly long. The lang code of the origin should be the first parameter, like in {{borrowing}} or {{etyl}}. The "etyl term" should be the last unnamed parameter (not easy to implement, but possible). Also, as with other templates, the lang parameter should default to English. Thanks, --The Evil IP address 15:54, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

Transliteration parameters needed

This needs parameters tr1, tr2, tr3, tr4, tr5, and etyl tr for transliterations of the parts and parent term. —Michael Z. 2013-04-27 21:42 z

@CodeCat: Hah, well for one, I didn't know it existed! I've always seen people type out {{calque}} in full, myself obviously included. But now that I do, I think {{cal}} is a bit too ambiguous (sounds like a calendar template), which may in part be why it isn't in wide use. --Victar (talk) 17:49, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

Parameter needed

@Benwing2, {{calque}} does not use |nocat=, but it is sometimes needed when, for example, in the etymology section, you write that an ancestor of the language in question has calqued from another source; so it would be timesaving if we do not have to link to our glossary but simply use that parameter.
