@Vorziblix: regarding this edit, I’m wondering if it makes a difference since |pageref= will only be used together with |pages= (and not |page=). I’d like to clarify this to decide if other quotation templates also need to be updated similarly. — SGconlaw (talk) 16:49, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

@Sgconlaw: Oh, my mistake! I forgot |pages= was a separate parameter and was wondering why |page= was throwing me an error when I tried to use an en-dash... now it's all suddenly clear. While I run off to fix the quotes I added with my tail between my legs, I can't think of any use case where |page= would go together with |pageref=, so the order shouldn't make any difference.
