1642?

It states 1642 (indicated as 1641). Why was the wrong year published? Who would do such a thing? P. Sovjunk (talk) 09:09, 14 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

@P. Sovjunk: actually, it’s still being done these days. Often, a publisher will indicate that a book is published in, say, 2025 when actually comes out in 2024 (often towards the end of the year). I speculate that it’s sometimes because the publisher can’t accurately estimate exactly when a book will be published, and sometimes it’s done so the book looks more up-to-date. The reverse, as in this case, is probably less common, and it’s probably because the publisher didn’t estimate the release date of the book well enough. — Sgconlaw (talk) 13:31, 14 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
