This produces an etymology for a small group of terms derived from unattested root でれ (dere). This template should be used to keep the etymologies in these entries consistent.

Usage

This template has no parameters. Example:

This term is part of a cluster of terms surrounding a root でれ (dere, slovenliness? sloppiness? shamefulness?) that is not attested on its own.

Further derivation is uncertain. Possibly related to noun 照れ (tere, embarrassment, ashamedness, bashfulness), from verb 照れる (tereru, to be embarrassed, ashamed, bashful).

Note that this template includes references, so you will need to manually ensure that the bottom of the entry has the following two lines:
