Usage

This template is used in the etymology section of Japanese terms with superseded spellings to indicate that one of the uncommon kanji has been replaced by another commonly used kanji (a daiyōji) found in the jōyō kanji or tōyō kanji list.

Parameters

This template takes the following parameters:

|1=
Compulsory: Replacement kanji that is more common in modern literature.
|tr1=
Transliteration for replacement kanji.
|t1=
Definition for replacement kanji.
|2=
Compulsory: Original kanji that is more common in pre-1946 literature.
|tr2=
Transliteration for original kanji.
|t2=
Definition for original kanji.
|sort=
Sort parameter for Category:Japanese terms spelled with daiyōji.
|nocat=1
Suppresses categorization.
