Template:archive-bottom

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary

{{archive-top}} and {{archive-bottom}} are used on talk pages to archive old discussions. Users can apply the templates manually, and autopatrolled users can enable the aWa gadget in their preferences, which uses the templates when archiving certain discussion pages.

Usage

For discussions archived from standard venues, place the following on the talk page:

== Header text ==
{{archive-top|venue|result}}
{{fake==|old header}}
discussion content
{{archive-bottom}}

The first positional parameter to {{archive-top}} denotes the venue from which the discussion was archived: rfv, rfd, rfdo, rfm, rfc, rft or feedback.

The second parameter is optional and denotes the result of the verification process or deletion debate: passed, failed or archived. The default value is archived.

Discussions from arbitrary pages can be archived as such:

== Header text ==
{{archive-top|page name}}
{{fake==|old header}}
discussion content
{{archive-bottom}}

The second parameter should not be passed.

Incorrect usages of {{archive-top}} place the page in Category:Archive boxes needing attention.
