Adapted borrowing of translingual test

This template is used to format the etymology of adapted borrowings. Please only use it under the header 'Etymology'.

This template adds a category like Category:South Levantine Arabic adapted borrowings from Ottoman Turkish, in addition to the categories added by {{borrowed}}. Category pages for this template are created by {{auto cat}}.

When to use

[edit]

This template is intended for loanwords that were formed with the addition of an affix to conform the term to the normal morphology of the target language. For example, South Levantine Arabic بلش (ballaš) is an adapted borrowing from Ottoman Turkish باشلامق (başlamak).

Parameters

[edit]

Same as {{borrowed}}, with an extra |nocap=1 parameter if the leading "A" should be "a" and an extra |notext=1 parameter to suppress the initial text entirely.

Examples

[edit]
