[edit]@Jberkel what a convoluted rabbit hole of a word! The senses boil down to “the vocal part of a song”, “the non-vocal part of a song”, “both” and “neither”.
I added the information I could confirm confidently. There are two more that I saw but didn’t add:
- a certain type of rhythm or song structure used in various genres of Brazilian folk music; a song with this rhythm/structure; this one is citable but I couldn’t find enough information for a proper definition
- rumors; mentioned by dictionaries but I couldn’t find uses
