Not just gymnastic equipment

Odd that this phrase would mean gymnastics and not just gymnastic equipment. Jidanni (talk) 13:59, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

Vietnamese is a head-initial language, thể dục here is the head and dụng cụ here is used attributively ("with tools, of tools"). In a head-final language, yeah it would probably mean "gymnastic equipment", but Vietnamese isn't one (the equivalent expression in Vietnamese would be dụng cụ thể dục, as you can see, dụng cụ (“tools”) now is the head, and thể dục is now used attributive). This is just some basic syntax, if you want to contribute to entries and making suggestions, learning a bit about the language and how it operates is no harm.
