Finnish. Appears to only exist on laji.fi — SURJECTION / T / C / L / 11:29, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

True, but Laji.fi fi is the only authoritative source for Finnish names of plant and animal species, albeit not necessarily updated according to latest genetic research). One cannot expect a lively discussion in newspapers and/or internet about small exotic animals (large ones are better known). Yet that's the word that should primarily be used if Dasyprocta cristata is mentioned in a Finnish text. The synonymous harjasaguti appears in exactly same places: at laji.fi (surinaminaguti as primary name) and Finnish Wikipedia's list of species (harjasaguti as primary name). I would say we either have both or neither.--Hekaheka (talk) 11:24, 15 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
It's admittedly a tricky situation. Many of these official names are not attestable and shouldn't have entries, but at the same time they are worth documenting. I don't really know what the best approach would be. — SURJECTION / T / C / L / 18:24, 15 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'll just retract this for now until there is a proper solution to this. (Appendix?) — SURJECTION / T / C / L / 12:22, 18 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
