I get that SRO is a valid TLA. But standing room only? Looks pretty dubious P. Sovjunk (talk) 21:16, 9 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Keep. This is a commonly-used phrase in reference to a packed event. While it is a bit literal, it can also be used figuratively, such as when there are no seats available for any attendees forcing everyone to stand. I.e. the center of the dance floor is so packed that people are forced to stand along the walls. Netizen3102 (talk) 01:48, 10 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Keep. It rarely actually means standing room only, it means that all the seats are taken and that there is only room to stand for later arrivals, which is not evident from the phrase itself. Andrew Sheedy (talk) 03:01, 10 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
How can it be an adjective? I think it was correct as a phrase. DonnanZ (talk) 20:48, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
"Phrase" is generally a bullshit catch-all part of speech, I use it all the time. P. Sovjunk (talk) 23:17, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Also, I sent an email to Andy Pountney, chairman of Stourbridge FC, who confirmed he used the word adjectivally, and also confirmed our pronunciation of Stourbridge is correct. Nice bloke. P. Sovjunk (talk) 23:20, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
