Looks like it, literally "sky splitter"; compare kjarnakljúfur (nuclear reactor [lit. "nucleus splitter"]) and efnakljúfur (enzyme [lit. "matter splitter"]). BigDom 16:55, 24 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
