Any chance that the unnamed "Proto-Finno-Ugric stem" might actually be a form of the borrowing and older word for "fox", Hungarian ravasz? That term lists Old Hungarian ruoz. @Eirikr: Yes, ÚEsz. agrees that the stems of ravasz and róka are identical, making róka a cognate of Finnish repo etc. Einstein2 (talk) 00:21, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
