Hot Word
[edit] This English term is a hot word. Its inclusion on Wiktionary is provisional.
- The word "pithovirus" is the scientific term chosen for a newly discovered virus. It is not the word "twerk" "selfie" etc, which are hot words. There is no need for a +tag for this word. WritersCramp (talk) 12:03, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
- “a newly coined term that has become very popular and is likely to remain in usage.” How does this description not apply to pithovirus? — Ungoliant (falai) 15:42, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
- it is not "a newly coined term" it is the taxonomy for a type of virus. WritersCramp (talk) 23:51, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
- Pithoviruses were first described this month. So, unless Wikipedia is lying, it is indeed newly coined. — Ungoliant (falai) 00:01, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
- It is an unfortunate fact of Wiktionary that even uneducated people that lack basic common sense can edit at Wiktionary :( 18:20, 18 March 2014 (UTC) — This unsigned comment was added by WritersCramp (talk • contribs) at 18:20, 18 March 2014 (UTC).
- Exactly. Particularly irritating are those come here and expect to be treated like royalty. They think that the words they add don’t need to follow the criteria for inclusion. To their disappointment, they have to follow the rules like the rest of us smallfolk. — Ungoliant (falai) 18:45, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

- Not "small folk" but rather incompetent folk, my final words on the matter. WritersCramp (talk) 09:40, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
- Ignoring rules is incompetence. Stop vandalising this page or I will block you. — Ungoliant (falai) 19:05, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
