“Buxom”
[edit]@PhanAnh123: Are you sure...? cf. Từ điển tiếng Việt (Viện Ngôn ngữ học, 2003), pp. 786:
- Phồn thực đg. (dùng phụ sau d.). Sinh sản để duy trì và phát triển giống nòi.
Also, would classifying it as a verb and adding “{{lb|vi|usually used|_|attributively}}
” to the definition be better? Wyang (talk) 10:44, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- Not at all really, you can't use it as a verb, neither transitive nor intransitive. I don't get where that dictionary got that definition from. You could say something like "cơ thể phồn thực" (a busty body), but its use as a verb simply doesn't exist.PhanAnh123 (talk)
- @PhanAnh123: Umm, interesting. It looks like a misinterpretation/repurposing of the original word, and I would imagine that this sense is proscribed in dictionaries. It seems Từ điển Hoàng Phê classifies words based on their inherent/original part of speech, and this is treated as a verb used attributively (adjectivally), rather than an adjective.
