@Froaringus I see there is also a variant ouriña (< V. Latin *aurīna). Is a precursor like *ourĩa attested in medieval Galician-Portuguese? Nicodene (talk) 00:51, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

@Nicodene Actually... maybe? There is this passage on the Galician Miragres de Santiago (late XIV century): "Et en aquel lugar que cortara naçeulle hũa atal com̃o berruga por que fazia sua ourina"... Now, ourina could be there just for ouriña, but perhaps that <n> is simply a mark of nasality, so *ourĩa. Probably the first, but in that case that makes *ourĩa almost inevitable in the evolution of the word.--Froaringus (talk) 08:44, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
