Sumerian entries should be in cuneiform script, but I can't figure out what the native script form should be. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 08:44, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Vahagn Petrosyan, Ivan Štambuk, JohnC5: Any of you guys have the resources to deal with this, by any chance? —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 05:18, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
- Well here are 𒉆 (NAM) and 𒇷 (LI) but GU5 is not encoded directly. —JohnC5 06:02, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Metaknowledge: I take that back. Apparently it's 𒉆𒆪𒇷 (NAM-GU5-LI). Cuneiform is the worst, and I just don't get it. You can see the reference here if you go to the N section and search the page for namguli. —JohnC5 08:32, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Metaknowledge: also, do you know what our policy on Sumerian determinatives is? I was editing Subartu and added 𒋢𒂔𒆠 (SU.BIR4ki, “Subir”) with the final ki being a determinative for cities represented by 𒆠. Do we put the determinative (with no phonetic correlative) in the pagename? —JohnC5 18:08, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
- @JohnC5: Very funny joke you made there, suggesting that we have policies regarding Sumerian. I don't even know if we put determinatives in the pagetitle for Egyptian. I'd look at the existing entries to get a clue, and if you can't figure it out, just make a decision. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 18:12, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Metaknowledge: So, for most Egyptian entries we give the transliteration as the pagetitle which omits the determinative (e.g. mrwr). I don't think we normally include the determinative for Sumerian, but I'm not sure of the reason one way of the other. —JohnC5 18:21, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
