- This is SOP because the definition is incorrect. LaTeX is a mathematical markup language, but it does not use XML. 120.150.121.92 12:09, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
Adjective + noun + noun is always a hard sell. I'll abstain. If I see decent arguments from other corners, I'll take another look.— Dentonius 12:29, 29 December 2020 (UTC)- I will stand up for this term. Keep. utility > idiomaticity; lemmings (other dictionaries have it). @SemperBlotto, do you as the creator want to keep your entry? I did a quick search to see which paper dictionaries have it, lo and behold, they do. Here's one printed dictionary. Here's another. There are more. If paper can do it, why can't we? — Dentonius 06:31, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Dentonius Those dictionaries have it in caps. That is evidence for an entry Mathematical Markup Language, not for this entry. 120.150.121.92 01:39, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

- Delete. It's the expansion of the name of a specific markup language, MathML, incorrectly written with lower case. If the definition were broad enough to include TeX it would be a sum of parts. Vox Sciurorum (talk) 21:21, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
- Delete, incorrectly defined, and if correctly defined hopelessly SOP: geological markup language, medical markup language, music markup language, ... While “MathML” is formed as a semi-initialism from ”mathematical markup language”, the latter is not a lexical unit but a transparent sum of parts, just like the proper noun ISWIM is kind of an acronym for “if you see what I mean”, while the full phrase is not a lexical unit, if you grok what I signify. --Lambiam 01:47, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
