Wrong etymology?

[edit]

The current given etymology is for a verb meaning "blink". The meaning on the other hand is related to tech (machine, engine, etc.). It appears that the etymology and the definitions are mismatched. @PhanAnh123 @MuDavid @Mxn do you have any opinions? Duchuyfootball (talk) 14:07, 1 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

It's the same etymology. I think the etymology is written in the way to indicate pretty clearly that it underwent a semantic shift from a verb meaning "to move, to touch" to the modern noun "machine", is it not? PhanAnh123 (talk) 14:47, 1 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I see. Thank you for clarifying. Duchuyfootball (talk) 13:16, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
