Obsolete Definition

[edit]

@TagaSanPedroAko Although this word doesn't appear in all Tagalog dictionaries I know, even Diksiyonaryo, I see it used as I quoted in Florante at Laura. But I don't understand where you got the obsolete definition of "mile". --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 14:52, 20 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

@TagaSanPedroAko: I saw just now that you put in citations that "legwas" in "Florante at Laura" means "mile", but just wondering how you know it meant "mile" and not "league". --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 13:16, 22 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser: I don't know for certain. TagaSanPedroAko (talk) 01:35, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@TagaSanPedroAko: Thanks for the reply. I found this source: "Himagsik Laban sa mga Maling Kaugalian: Pagsusuri ng "Florante at Laura" ni Francisco Balagtas sa Panahon ng Kasinungalingan" where it contains a glossary of all the terms used in Florante at Laura, and it defines "legwas" as a "league" in English. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 11:40, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
