The Etymology also makes no sense with the supplied definition. I DID manage to find a single use in English, but with a different meaning (see citations page), but mostly this is a Spanish verb. I added it to Wiktionary:Requested_entries_(Spanish)#I recently with the comment "archaic word meaning assault, capture, take by surprise? (seems to vary by dictionary)". Vox Sciurorum (talk) 23:15, 23 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
