Requirement, Necessity

@Ysrael214 Do you have a source that specifically states that the word "ilang" means "requirement" or "necessity"? Because if not, I can envision a possibility of this: since the idea of "ilang" is isolated, deprived of something, empty. "Kailangan" could have originally meant "emptiness", "isolated" (which is the definition I see in Vocabulario, in the entry "ilang"), and through time, that shifted into needing something (since emptiness of something means you may need what should be there).
