Alternative forms

[edit]

@Leasnam: Can you add any examples of where the forms listed in "Alternative forms" are attested? Urszag (talk) 20:21, 1 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Urszag, I don't remember where I got those, and I can't seem to find them now, so I just removed them. They don't look right anyway Leasnam (talk) 01:39, 2 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
I remember now. I wasn't sure if gōian should actually be ġōian, for *ġeōian or *ġēoian, variants of ġēawian, from **gauwōn, but this would make no sense since wk2 verbs do not have a j to produce gemination, so PWGmc would be *gawōn not **gauwōn. Looking freshly at it now, I would postulate a Proto-West Germanic *gō(w)ōn. Leasnam (talk) 01:44, 2 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
