Etymology

Apparently, the Proto-Germanic *lōfô (palm of the hand) is cognate with the root of Cornish 'Lōf' (hand palm) from Proto-Brittonic; not Proto-Celtic; unless the root of Gaelic LAMH (hand) is from the same P.I.E. root. Andrew Andrew H. Gray 13:55, 21 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
