Latin, Etymology 1
[edit]Here are the frequency data for 3rd person passive forms (as found in the linguistic-networks.net corpus):
funditur 308 funduntur 149 fundetur 108 fundentur 14 fundebatur 94 fundebantur 22 fundatur 307 fundantur 95 funderetur 83 funderentur 17 funditor 0 funduntor 0 fundendus 24 fusus 378
so (based on this) I am switching the conjugation template from la-conj-3rd-nopass to la-conj-3rd-pass3p (and I removed the passive imperative forms from la-conj-3rd-pass3p). —AugPi 23:24, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Irregularity of *ǵʰ→h→f
[edit]Why is the shift from PIE *ǵʰ- to an H to an F at the beginning of a word described as "irregular"? PIE aspirated plosives at the beginning of a word normally do end up as an F in Latin; are we saying the intermediate step usually isn't "H"? And if it's irregular, then how do we know that the irregular thing is what actually happened?
