Is this high tide or low tide?

[edit]

The definition is confusing me - it currently reads "floodtide; high tide". Floodtide means low tide. High tide means low tide. I've tried to find this word in other dictionaries without success. Which does it mean? Intersets (talk) 02:06, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

floodtide and high tide are synonyms. fore-flood is the period when the tide is rising (between low tide and high tide). Leasnam (talk) 03:40, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
