- Perhaps neither 'fist' nor 'fice' are valid alternative spellings. Maybe Eclecticology, who created this entry with 'fist' as a spelling variant and a link to www.etymonline.com, just didn't read etymonline's entry carefully enough. Ncik 21:30, 19 Jul 2005
