- This is in Flanders a common word in cycling; examples in news sources: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6]. Cycling in Flanders has a very folksy character ("volks karakter") and the accompanying vocabulary often remains typically Flemish, even in more formal settings: e.g., Flandrien, coureur (ipv wielrenner), bollekestrui (ipv bolletjestrui), demarreren (ipv ontsnappen), kassei (ipv kinderkopje), enz.
