This is straight out of Webster. OED marks this sense "archaic" and gives two cites, both using the adjective to describe "gods" (being Ancient Greek/Roman gods). These cites are in the out-of-copyright NED, so we can copy them. As for a third cite, this is obviously difficult to search for... This, that and the other (talk) 23:52, 4 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
