Has two identical adjective senses. (Perhaps one of them is supposed to be a noun sense?) — Sgconlaw (talk) 17:05, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
Olybrius added the second sense with this edit. Olybrius, what was your intention? —Mahāgaja · talk 17:37, 18 September 2023 (UTC)- Actually, I think I know what the intention was: préhistorique is a synonym of antédiluvien in the sense “antiquated” but not in the other senses. I feel like this could be better indicated somehow. —Mahāgaja · talk 17:40, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Mahagaja: any chance you can tidy this up, as you are a French speaker? I note from fr.wiktionary that there are noun senses too. — Sgconlaw (talk) 19:09, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- Better now? —Mahāgaja · talk 22:19, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- Wiktionnaire lists them as two senses, with the "antediluvian" one being listed as "vieilli". I think it would be better to keep the senses distinct and add
{{lb|fr|by extension}}
to the figurative sense. I'll go ahead and do that, but let me know if anyone objects. Andrew Sheedy (talk) 22:43, 18 September 2023 (UTC)- Yes, I am sorry, my edit wasn't very clear (I am a bit lazy). My intention was merely to add the figurative/humorous sense which, I think, should indeed be distinguished even though they translate similarly. Merging both senses seems confusing. - The entry looks better now. Thanks everybody. — Sgconlaw (talk) 04:16, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
