Little usage outside the Steinbeck novel --Pious Eterino (talk) 02:33, 24 December 2018 (UTC)

- I see the cites, but to be honest they don't look like very good ones. --Pious Eterino (talk) 00:45, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Pious Eterino: Given that this is generally a sign that appears in a bar, what do you think a good cite would look like? Kiwima (talk) 21:44, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
- They look pretty good to me. Since the initialism is intended to cause a question, the citations will almost inevitably be a bit mention-y. The Steinbeck use is the only pure use I've yet to find. DCDuring (talk) 22:01, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
- Interestingly, the meaning of the initialism remained a mystery to some Steinbeck scholars until 1973, being worth publication in an article "Steinbeck's 'IITYWYBAD'" in Steinbeck Quarterly. DCDuring (talk) 22:19, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
- I don't find the quotes very good either. If it isn't used, it isn't used. Per utramque cavernam 23:51, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
- IMO the two cites in the entry and the Empire Digest cite on the citations page are good. DCDuring (talk) 23:58, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
